FQ: Have you ever changed your blog?

When I'm sick, I'm also moody about food. Can't taste so I go for texture. Enter, the sweet potato. I love them. Even sick, I love them. Click FULL VIDEO, to see how they baked in the air fryer.

In other news, I'm ready to make a new blog. I might try WordPress. Not for sure yet. Right now, this blog feels cluttered crowded and I want room.

Lots and lots of room.

Plus, I no longer like how the comments are setup here. Though, I might be able to change that before moving to a new place. Either way, that's where I'm at.

Friday Question: Have you ever changed Blogger templates? Or have you moved to a new blog format? Anyone like Wordpress? What comment form works best for you? Any and all feedback is welcome.

Thanks Bunches & Boogie Boogie!

  1. The sweet potatoes look amazing! Good luck if you do change your blog. I hardly change anything, it takes me forever to change things.

  4. Blogger and WordPress often have hissy fits at each other and won't allow a blogger from one platform to comment on the other.
I am way too lazy to change my blog.
Let us know if you move though so we can (try and) follow you.
And yes, when sick and when taste is diminished texture is even more important.

  6. I have changed blogs and do not recommend Wordpress at all. Not user friendly. Clunky and loaded with adverts unless you pay. Very difficult to change looks. I used to design my own webpage and do or rather did know what I was doing. I would go back to blogger but don’t want lose readers. Also, you can’t post your own videos. Have to upload to YouTube first.

    1. Warn your readers and ask them to please follow you. If they love you they will follow.

  7. We'll have to watch your video and try your sweet potatoes next!
I know several who went to Wordpress and it was a mess. A couple who changed and it was all right. Big loss of followers though. Like starting from scratch. You can always scrap the template here and try a new one.

  8. I've never changed my blog platform or, indeed, anything major about my blog except the blog banner a couple of time. I still use the same "simple template" I started with. I curse Blogger all the time, but I do think it's the best platform out there.

  9. I have changed the header and the colours etc a few times. That’s about it.

  10. I've never moved from Blogger, never changed my template, I'm happy with the calming look it has. I have changed the way comments appear a couple of times just to get it right. Now I'm taking a longish break while real life gets sorted out.

  11. We still use the Blog as our "computer-guy" set it up... Made a Couple (one just "there") the other... a 'darker" topic and seldom go to it or the other ....

  12. I've messed around with my blog template a number of times. If you're feeling "crowded" you can widen the area where your blog is posted - which will also allow for bigger pictures & videos.

  13. I've occasionally switched the layout for my blog.

  15. I have changed Blogger templates. I have moved to Wordpress too. I have stuff on both systems. I like them both. I recommend creating a test site (on both). Play and mess around until you get something you like. Keep that test site! It comes in handy when you want to make changes in the future.

I highly recommend using the comment system that comes with whichever system you use. Installing or using something else can both slow your site and alienate commenters.

  16. Once I got something working right, I don't change it. And my blog is just fine the way it is. Simple. But if yours is bugging you, then play around with Blogger first. I mean, they have lots of different sized templates. Don't they?

  18. I've got both. Irritations with both of them, can't win. LOL But it's fun to try. You're more technically inclined, you can do it! Good luck, I'll follow!
Stay well, stay warm, and stay positive!
    Happy New Year!

  19. Hey Ivy,

Sweet potatoes, I shall duly check out your video!

I've changed my blog's template three times in eleven years. As for Wordpress, the commenting section on it does my head in.

    See ya later...

  21. I like some things about Wordpress (new user), but I hate others. The hate might stem from pilot error, but it can be a frustrating platform. Some of my followers have a devil of a time leaving a comment. Only the stalwart have persisted. Just FYI.

  22. I have never made a new blog, but I do play around with my blog all the time. Good luck with what ever you decide! Hope you're feeling better!

  23. I liked the older version of Blogger better but only discovered this once I had changed to a newer version with different templates. It is much easier to leave comments on Blogger posts than on Wordpress, too.

  24. I'm happy with blogger and I have experimented with different templates but settled for what I have. It's simple and effective. I hope.

  25. Years ago I tried Wordpress but hated it. I find Blogger so much easier and have never had a problem with it but several of my friends who have had wordpress blogs have had problems over the years. I've never changed the template on my blog. Never felt the need to.
