ON THE BENCH (being sick, sucks!)

At 3AM on Christmas morning, our furnace died. The trailer was so cold that the inside of the fridge was warmer than the kitchen. Furnace got fixed on the 26th for just under 200 bucks. I was happy with that price and thankful we didn't need to buy a new furnance.

Right now, we have 2 days of staycation, left. Tim was supper sick during the first part, then I caught it. He's moving about now, I'm still on the bench. Currently shopping online for a new wavy waffle cutter. Deciding between white or orange. My head is stuffed up and I've blown through 1,004 tissues.

Ugh.

NO OIL, AIR FRY POTATO BITES (with video)

Look at these POTATOES!!! I love this machine. I mean, the basket is slightly chipping BUT, the bakes are killer fun. Last night, I made pear crumble pie in the air-fry. But today, it's more POTATOES for breakfast.

After that: find a new home for my cookery and bake books. Right now, they're in a pile on the bedroom floor, and on the top shelf in the closet (wardrobe). I moved my books when I gave Tim my shelf for his office. But today, I've got a big old fire under my butt so I'm gonna find them a proper home.

PS: New video at the end of this post!

AIR FRY "BAKED" JACKET POTATO (plus Friday Question)

I'm on a potato roll but there are a zillion other veggies that work in the air fryer, as well. So fun! By the way, her name is Mable and I love her. Also, I'm on the hunt for a waffle knife for waffle fries.

Muwhahahaha!

PS: This first video is comin'atcha live from my phone. That's all from me. I'm done with work for the day and I'm about to go make a Jersey plate of fries.

Friday Question: Do you like potatoes and if so, what kind? Are you able to eat them deep-fried? I cannot. Hurts my tummy.

BAKER'S RACK (I'm THIS close!)

Hey Boogerbutts! It's Thursday and I made a video of my new baker's rack. The red wall behind it will get painted white. I'm this close.

THIS CLOSE.

BLOOMIN' HEADACHE

In better news, two kitchen shelves arrive soon. All of the decluttering, demo work and building of new rooms was driven by having a permanent place to shoot real videos for me to share recipes. It's been a long haul with plenty of setbacks.

For anyone who declutters and feels like it's a big job that takes forever. To anyone who gets discouraged over starts and stops. I promise you, the end-result is worth it.

Keep going.

Keep going.

Keep going.

Keep going.

144 SUBS & NEW LAB (hot dog!)

Hey Guys! Guess what? We ordered my new kitchen/lab which means overhead videos and a HUGE toy shelf for my baking stuff. Best part, we paid for the entire lot from change that we saved during the year.

How flippin' cool is that?

PS: Videos & groovy links, below.

PPS: Check out these YouTubers for more air frying fun!

RENO UPDATE (almost done)

Hello Boogerbutts. It's day 5 of our staycation (whoosh). The video below is where we left off last night.  Today, a wee bit more and then TIM MOVES INTO HIS NEW ROOM.

To think, this started last year, when I wanted a home for a white box. So I decluttered.  And now ... a new room.

Been a LONG HAUL. Lots of setbacks but totally flippin' worth it.

I give you, the new floor. Along with Grandpa's fried spaghetti.

Thanks for watching and boogie boogie.

10-DAY STAYCATION (count'em 10 days!)

FRIDAY QUESTION: WHAT AM I ????

Hello Boogerbutts and welcome to another Friday Question. I learned how to convert HD to SD video, which makes a big file, smaller and easier to upload native to Blogger. Hot dog. I'm learning.

Friday Question: What Am I?

PS: Our 4-day Halloween weekend was killer fun. We unplugged for most of it, ate homemade pretzels and watched the entire second series of STRANGER THINGS.

RAISE YOUR HAND IF ...

Hello Boogerbutts!

I'm done working on videos for the week, Tim has four days off and I'm about to make a fresh batch of homemade laundry soap. Then after this, we're headed to the co-op to get a few things including more white spelt for PRETZELS !!!!

Yeah, baby.

20 October 2017

Friday Question: PRETZELS !!!!

With the immune system stuff, I don't get to eat out often and it's been YEARS since I ate a pretzel. But we recently hit a pretzel shoppe and the ladies at Auntie's made mine without butter and it was SO GOOD.

Friday Question:

Do you like pretzels? Do you use dipping sauces, mustard or plain? I like mine plain or with a wee bit of yellow mustard.

Video of us: PRETZEL TIME!

7 Years of Blogging (whoosh)🎃

Hey Boogerbutts! Guess what? Not only have I been on blogger for 7 years but also ...

17 August 2017

Hey Boogerbutts (please help)

This morning, I made a video for my friend Holly, and now I'm sharing it with you, because I need a wee bit more help.

YouTube dictates that I reach at least 100 subscribers to my channel, in order to apply for a custom URL. So if you like the video below, please give me a thumb and consider subscribing. Big thanks to those who already helped.

PS: Click the YouTube logo to teleport directly to my channel.

PPS: Double click to teleport directly to my kitchen, where there's fresh bagels and blueberry lemon mini muffins.

Thanks bunches.

Be back to regular blogs, soon.

Off Blogger (see ya'll soon)

It's Monday and my goal is to clean the house top to bottom but first, lemme show you what I wrote. Double Chocolate and Cherry Vanilla. So flippin' yum. Recipes to hit a video screen near you, soon-ish. As in, soonish as I stop being a chicken shit and get my mug in front of the camera.

The Happy Whisk - YouTube Page.

PS: I'm off Blogger for the season, but NOT for health reasons so bonus points for that. Catch some of you on email, G+ and Twitter.

Cheers and boogie boogie.

WOOHOO FOR THE POO !!!!

Last Thursday I was able to sit without pain and that night, I passed kidney stones. Thank goodness, those little buggers are gone. As for the intestinal blockage, that had already fixed (no surgery), and I'm back to pooping lots per day. Woohoo for the poo.

I'm about to rip apart my lab/kitchen. As it currently stands, most of my ingredients are in jars and my lab stuff is mixed with our home stuff. The goal: Part the two and make my kitchen Hubby-Friendly and my lab, Me-Friendly.

That's all for now. Gonna crank the tunes and boogie my way through.

WOOHOO FOR THE POO !!!!

Intestinal Blockage (not fun)

I finally got my immune system to where it can tolerate going to the movies. But did I get to see Wonder Woman?

Nope.

Instead, I was diagnosed with intestinal blockage aka, bowel obstruction. Not fun and quite painful. For now, I can't eat or sit and won't be on social media.

But as soon as I get back, it's straight to more videos. YouTube tells me once I hit 100 subs, I'm allowed to apply for a custom URL. If interested in food, please subscribe to The Happy Whisk.

Thanks and I'll see you SOON.

30 May 2017

My New YouTube Channel

I started a YouTube channel. Today, I learned that holding my camera the way I did, makes the video long and tall. But when Tim shot his Zombie Crawl side-ways, his came out widescreen. Now I know. Cool beans.

In other news, allergy-wise, I did good at the second-hand estate store. Just a small rash. Zero breathing problems. I'll take it.

Early Friday Question: What movie will I see during our staycation? Rabbit turds and wad of earwax to all who get it right.

PS: Videos below go to my new channel.
PPS: Wait. I lied. They don't link.

Click, The Happy Whisk - YouTube.

SHOOTIN' OFF MY MOUTH

A big Thank You to my friend Alex for hosting me on his blog today. I almost chickened out. BUT, once I got out of my own way, I had a great time. You rock.

Guess what? We survived our first weekend with a bedtime. I love it. No, no. I lied. I flippin' love it. And, if it's possible, I have more energy now than I did before. Who knew? Not me.

Remember last week when I was shootin' off my mouth, saying that I'd be done mudding walls by Friday and painting by today?

Lies. All lies.

19 May 2017

Friday Question & What Am I?

This past week we started a 10 PM bedtime. The first night I struggled with it but the second night I had to pull Tim in. I like that we're doing this together. Tonight will be our first weekend. Feels odd to have a bedtime on the weekend but I'm enjoying the calmness. Plus, I get back to baking in the early mornings.

What's not to love about that?

Friday Question: Do you have a bedtime? Does it change during the weekend?

Now for the bonus round ...

Tell us what this is and win three boogers, a dead mouse and a broken chair.

17 May 2017

GET THIS F**CKER FINISHED

I just crawled out of the coffin and now I'm at my desk. I didn't brush my teeth or pee, which I think borders on TMI.

Today's goal: Apply a second coat of mud to the walls (Tim's new office). Let compound dry. Do a third coat on Friday. Prime next week. Paint. Install new floor.

Time to get this fucker finished.

In other news, I'm learning Twitter. Anyone on there? What do you like or dislike about it? I'm interested to hear your views.

15 May 2017

Happy Much? (you betcha)

I finished round one of sanding the walls in Tim's new office and had zero breathing problems.

Up next, I go to the movie house once a year as a tester for my immune system/allergy to corn. Even the smell would rash me out and/or cause breathing issues.

Well guess flippin' what? Small rash, slightly pooped but ZERO breathing issues. Happy much? You betcha.

Lastly, I dropped the sorghum flour from my egg-free Cinnamon French Toast and it worked better in terms of taste and coating. Turns out, I don't need no stinkin' eggs for French Toast.

Yeah, baby. Life is good.

12 May 2017

Friday Question: FOOD

Before I got sick, I lived on whole foods. Then a chance to attend cookery school arrived, so I ate meat, dairy and eggs. But I never went to school. I got sick. This included intestinal parasites, edema, horrible infections and an immune system gone whack-a-do.

Even though having an excellent outlook, plant roots and being a recipe developer made giving foods up easier, I struggled with chicken. I liked it. It hated me. It was the last to go. At the time, I wasn't happy.

Friday Question:

What foods would you NOT want to give up?

11 May 2017

Egg Allergy (you can suck it)

I just crawled out of the coffin. Must have needed the sleep because I feel darn good ready to rumble. More sanding today. Didn't get far yesterday.

I'm about to have Egg-Free French Toast (something I'm working on, thank you egg allergy), and here's what I pulled from the woods yesterday.

And that my friends, is all that's fit to print.

Draft 1 (from yesterday)

10 May 2017

Baby Bagels (now with more zombies)

The bills are paid, new dough is proving (aka proofing), and soon I'm gonna put my pink zombie shirt on and crank Bryan Adams. Today, I need to sand Tim's new walls and I think it might be warm enough to open the windows.

PS: Bagels from the weekend. These guys weigh 50g each but don't let that fool ya', they're killer good.

PPS: I've been taking lots of photos and videos (WITH ME IN THE SHOTS). None of which are here but I'm getting closer.

And that's all I have to say about that.

03 May 2017

1 Year Anniversary of The Great Declutter of 2016

Guess what? Today is one year since I started to declutter. Four weeks after today, I hit 80 percent of my stuff gone. Soon after that, another 15 percent escaped.

Best. Choice. Ever.

A big thanks to all who have commented, read, shared your stories, showed me before and after photos of your clutter, as well as shared your struggles with me on private email.

You. Guys. Rock.

In other news, here's a few Birch Polypores we found last Sunday. Also found purple dead nettle. Both can be made into tea.

02 May 2017

Garlic Mustard Tea (homemade)

I'm so excited that I had to log on and do a post. I just made (and drank) my first homemade tea powder from oven-dried garlic mustard leaves.  Similar to matcha tea in terms of the leaves being ground into a powder (that's where I got the idea), but without the hefty price tag.

I am over the moon.

28 April 2017

Friday Question: LIVE (from my cutting board) Wild Edibles

It's been a week of plant-walking (because that's a thing), and a few minutes ago I dug these up. Behold, the prettiest cutting board our the trailer park. I just made myself giggle.

Let's get back to Friday Questions, shall we?

Friday Question: What wild edibles have you eaten, either now or as a kid? How did/do you eat them? What did you fancy? What did you not enjoy?

Or... anything you'd like to add/ask.

I had violets yesterday. Enjoyed the blossom but the leaves tasted of perfume. Phew. Not a fan. But the wild onions and garlic. Yeah, baby. That's the good stuff.

LIVE FROM MY CUTTING BOARD

26 April 2017

Foraging (I'm Hooked)

Last Friday, I ate my first dandelion flower. I didn't know the flowers were edible or sweet. Before this, I've only had store-bought dandelion tea but stopped buying it due to the inflated price tag.

They can suck it, I'll make my own.

Guess what else? In the woods behind our trailer I found wild garlic, wild onions and garlic mustard. All edibles. Today, I spent two hours in the woods and it felt like 20 minutes. I'm hooked.

PS: Here's Bug. Taken today.

20 April 2017

SUCK ON THAT

Last Friday I hit a new grocery market and my immune system went nuts. I looked like a boiled lobster with braids. Thankfully, I recovered quick.

Up next, we had cupboard ants. I placed everything on folding tables and waited for the queen to die. I struggled to put the kitchen back together. I farted around, wasn't focused and then it hit me, I hate those upper cupboards.

Hate. Them.

So I put my kitchen back together without using the cabinets above the oven and hot dog, those suckers are next on my demo list. Suck on that.

PS: I made ice cream.

11 April 2017

Wigglin' Fool (that's me)

Did you ever hit the coffee house, cafe, bookstore or doughnut shoppe, sit at the table with a cuppa something good and earbuds that insist on playing the best songs, as you wiggle in your chair? Whelp, that's me right now. I'm a wigglin' fool and I don't care who knows it.

Guess what? Wouldn't that be weird if you knew the answer?

I woke up today with no breathing issues, which happens when I sand walls (even with my good mask). But yesterday, I used the damp bandana trick along with several sips of raw apple cider vinegar and they worked.

Hot dog!

10 April 2017

Hello Monday (your ass is mine)

After a week of on and off health issues, I'm happy to report that this is morning three, of me feeling normal. Which means, I mud for the next few hours in attempt to get all the bedding coats down.

Hello Monday. Your ass is mine.

05 April 2017

Spud 'n Mud

Inspired by the air fryer craze, I baked spuds in the oven without oil. Took me three tries to get what I wanted. For today's bake, I changed the shape, lowered the temp and coated with an arrowroot chili-style powder.

Up next, The Husband Test. It's when I make one or more changes to a dish but don't tell Tim. Then I watch him. Sometimes his face gets scrunchy.

As for me, I ate the entire lot. They had a crispy outside and tender fluffy innards. Eww. Innards might not be the best word. Now my face is scrunchy.

In other news, check out my new mud.
