Ready to Rumble (suck on that, corn)

We went to see Captain America but my allergy to corn (just smelling it), continues. Albeit, the rash this year was not as bad as last year during Avengers. However, the next day was horrible. I'll omit the details and just say it sucked wet monkey balls.

On the bright side, here's a tip. Don't want anyone to sit next to you. Then wearing blue plastic gloves, and over-sized sweatshirt/hoodie, noise canceling headphones and a mask around the mouth and nose should do the trick. Nobody wanted to sit next to us and it was great!

Anyway, it's Monday and I'm rested and ready to rumble. Suck on that, corn! The goal this week is to continue downsizing the kitchen/lab and office. More about that another time. See you in four days, when I'll play catch-up on your blog posts.

Until then, have a yummy week.

  1. Sorry you had a reaction just being in the theater. Yeah, I imagine people sat far away from you.
    Great movie, wasn't it?

  2. No corn can NOT do that!!! (neither can I, for that matter...you really ARE Wonder Woman!) And I'm totally trying your outfit as deterrent for neighbors during a movie next time I go.

    So glad you're feeling better!

  4. Thanks for the tip, that could be very useful. But how could you hear the movie with the head-phones on?

    1. I have bionic ears. So I always wear either those or ear plugs and sometimes, both.

  6. I was wondering that about the earphones. So sorry you suffer so badly just from the smell of the stuff. Is it the corn or the stuff they put on it?

    1. Bionic ears, since childhood. So I have to wear them or earplugs.

Not sure about the stuff they out on, but for sure corn. If I eat it (which I no longer do), I turn into a hot mess.

Guess what? I bought asparagus today. Tim has never tried it and wants to give it a go. Did you get any yet?

  7. My youngest son is taking me to see Civil War tomorrow as a Mother's Day present. Kids are great. Popcorn always smells so good to me at the theater but I never get it.

  8. Love your movie neighbor aversion strategy and glad that you are bouncing back so nicely! I wasn't aware someone could be sensitive to corn in that way, it makes me think of my corn-on-the-cob munch fest last night in a totally new way! Feel better-er :o)

    1. We used to LOVE those cob fests. Nothing for supper but lots of local corn. You lucky gal, you.

  9. Maybe next time try a full haz-mat suit? Sorry to hear you still had a reaction. I'm dying to see "Civil War" but must wait until crowds die down a bit more. I'll probably go in early June. We went this weekend to "Keanu" instead. What a waste of money that was! The kitten hardly got any screen time at all.

    1. Sorry your movie was a waste of money, that blows. Yes, full haz-mat might have been a better way to go. I hear you on the crowds. We went to the 10AM movie, wasn't too bad. But then, no one wanted to sit next to me, so that was a bonus :-)
