Butt Juice

Ohhhhh weeee, it's flippin' cold with stories of snow on the way. Glad we hit the market last night but bummer, no organic fennel. That's the one thing about Wegmans, they're hit or miss as to what's on offer, each time I go. So I tasted a piece of the non-organic fennel and boy was it bland, bland, bland.

However, I did get me a heavy pineapple that I set upside down, on the counter. Pineapples don't get ripe once picked BUT, their butts are full of juice and setting them upside down, helps the butt juice (that sounds much worse than it is), travel to the top. Once the fruit smells amazing, it's time to crack that baby open. Been doing it this way for decades and it's never failed.

That's about all here. I'm gonna go find something to eat, then hit Monster for a walk and after that, Frankenberry should be home. Boogie boogie and have a yummy day.

    1. Did you get to go out?

Hope the pineapple trick works for you. Just gotta try and pick a nice smelling one that is heavy for its size. Then upside down and when it smells AMAZING (but not rotten), it's good to go.

    1. Once you start picking good ones and setting upside down, pineapple eating time should be filled with yum.

When it smells amazing (but not rotten), it's good to go. Enjoy and boogie boogie.

  7. intrigued to try pineapple trick, do you lop off the stemmy stuff or balance it on the green bit?

    1. Balance it with the greens still on. Then when it smells amazing, like you walk past and go wow, that's when it us usually ready.

Also, helps to select a good smelling pineapple at the store, heavy for its size. No mold or rot.

And you should be good to go.

  11. I love pineapple and am glad to know what you said about it!

We had 17" snow yesterday, heavy heavy snow. It's beautiful this morning with the sun shining, but that's about all I can say about it. Hope you don't get this much of the stuff!

  12. Good info about the pineapple ... we only eat a little because it can raise Eddie's blood sugar numbers too high!

It has got very cold in parts of the UK and some have had a little snow, not us we have cold winds though ... had to get my thicker socks, gloves and scarf out!!!

Hope you are having a good weekend Ho Ho Ho and boogie oogie !!!

  13. Interesting tidbit about pineapples. They are one fruit I don't care for. They're just too sweet for me but my daughter loves them.

  14. Wow that's new to me! I've been doing it wrong all along then :-( Thanks for the tip! Pineapple is yummy and sooo good for you. It's funny when you're used to eating organic the other stuff tastes so much different. I'm the same way with fish. I can't eat the frozen stuff. It just tastes like nothing to me.

    1. Yes, so many good things about pineapple.

And if you start with a good smelling one that is heavy for her size, then flip for a few days, you should be good to go.

Just take care not to let her rot but after awhile, your nose will know.

Fresh fish ... ah, it's been FOREVER since I've had that. What's your favorite?
