When Did I Become Such a Cupcake?

Today, we hit the movie house. By the time the movie was over, my face, arms and neck/chest area were covered in a rash. I never eat at the movies. Maybe it was the food smells in the air. Or something funky on the seat.

Gross.

Then on our way to Barnes, we stopped at the store to get a new pair of jeans but I had to leave because the smells and fabric made it hard to breathe. No rash, but still. When did I become such a cupcake?

The only good news to report, is my recovery time is MUCH better than before. That gives me hope.

Hope is a good thing.

PS: The Avengers ROCKED!

  2. Something funky on the seat, or on the arm rests most likely (food residue??). Glad you enjoyed the movie, though. I'm going to see it tomorrow. Yay!

  3. What a rotten thing to happen Ivy. Hope it's all gone now and that it didn't spoil your enjoyment of the movie.

    1. No, I would not let something like this spoil a day. Life is too short for that kind of stuff.

      Onward march.

  4. Oh Ivy, so sorry to hear this...have you been tested with all those needles? My son and husband saw the Avengers this morning at a special screening party. They said it was really good too. They didn't like having to get up early though.

    1. I guess it's not for everyone but I am an early riser, I'd love for them to do an 8AM showing.

      Happy Weekend.

  5. I can't go in a lot of stores because of the latex that is used in so many things. I am latex anaphlaxis and just walking into certain stores makes me feel like I am going to throw up. It also causes diarrhea (TMI) You are not a cupcake. All the shit that comes from China and Bangladesh are chemical cocktails.

    1. That sounds like a challenge, for sure. No TMI on this blog, everything just hangs out. I'm good with that. Thanks for your great comments and ever lasting support.

      You're the best!

  6. When Daughter was Freshman in High School we HAD to
Go get something at Wallmart. I don't shop at wallmart hate everything about the store From the way they treat the women who work their to labor practices ....
But for a class the note came home so we went.
From the second I hit the door I started to sneeze, cough and hack my way through the store. Never again!
Sure enough we HAD to go again so I tried it one more time This time I turned around and walked out. I think it is the bug spray they put on the cheap clothes from political slave labor camps. (one reason I don't shop there)
The clothes where right in front of the store.
Told daughter next time just ask what you need I will find it somewhere else. And I did.

I always wait till the movie is almost done at the theaters and go then. Usually less people less germs.

Happy to hear your feeling better.
    cheers, parsnip

    1. Wally World is the devil here as well. And their prices keep going up. And their produce. No, never. Horrible. Horrible.

Every single store in my area and surrounding will get produce from local farmers. But not Wally. No, only crappy out of country rotten produce for them.

    2. It always makes me happy to know there are other wal mart haters out there. I have not stepped inside one (nor will I) in a very long time.

  11. Sometimes we change as we get older and our bodies react in ways we didn't expect. I hope this rash gets kicked to the curb quickly and never comes back. Put out the 'you're not welcome here' mat outside your front door. :)

We just finished supper. Delish. Time for me to close the kitchen, shower and get into my jams.

    4. Sunday was relaxing and a teeny weeny productive. But not too much 'cause today it's all about being crazy busy. Amazing how quickly vacations come to an end and responsibilities return!

  15. Ugh no fun with the rash! I have a slight one on my arms, but its my own fault because I know I cannot stay in the sun for any amount of time without sunblock and I went out and did just that on Saturday. At least you got to enjoy the movie! Paul wants to see it and so do I!

    1. Thanks, Michael. I'm working smart and so far, so good. Even with the hits.

Yes, agreed on the discount. Ours were five each and for my area, that's cheap. Though I remember when five was a lot.

      Prices, yikes.
