Barnes Cafe' Selfie

We're home from Barnes (see picture of me), and on the kitchen table are rolls filled with pepperoni. They're cooling. I never liked pepperoni. I would tolerate it or pick it off my pizza, but hardly ever ate any of my own pepperoni bread.

Until I developed an allergy to dairy, where even if the dairy is melted in the air, I get a face rash. Far worse, if I eat it.

So I don't.

And you know, I don't miss cheese at all, which I thought that I would by now. Instead, I'm making new bakes like simple pepperoni rolls or allergy-friendly muffins.

Pretty neat.

Well, Boogerbutts and Smoochie Faces, the rolls should be cool enough to eat. Tim's got Friday the 13th queued. We're off to drink iced tea and eat until our bellies are full.

  1. I love the selfie! :) It is good that you are aware of what you can and cannot eat, and what you enjoy, too. And thank you so very much for your kind comment on my post that I shared with you today, it really means so much to me.

    1. I'm very thankful, Linda - that I know how to write food. Otherwise, these new allergy issues would be far worse on me.

I meant what I said and thank you for sharing. If you want to chat in email, my email is on the side of this blog and should be part of my comments.

  2. Hmmm, I could go for a pepperoni roll right about now. Alas, a stale Twinkie will have to do - not - who does Twinkies anyway… hahahahaha

Love the selfie - and the hairdo is, like, amazingly stylish too! :P :) :)

  6. Love your selfie. For some reason I thought your hair was longer. :)

I'm not a big fan of pepperoni, either. Unless it's really, REALLY crispy. Then I could eat tons of the stuff. Strange, huh?

    1. It is much longer, though I keep saying I'm gonna chop it again.

Crispy sounds like something I would try. Have you ever baked them in the oven to make pepperoni chips?

    2. No, never baked pepperoni to make chips. I try to stay away from finding more fattening foods to stay away from. :)

  7. Pepperoni is one of the national foods of Canada. Like the Trailer Park Boys, we just eat it all on its own.

  10. I don't like pepperoni either. much to oily but if your off cheese it would be a nice cheese mouth feel.
I love cheese but don't eat it often.
Back in the stone age I stayed off any aged cheese, meats for my migraines. Now if it eat it I buy the best cheese and have a small amount. Brie is a favorite.
    Love the selfie.

    cheers, parsnip

    1. I was going to try brie but then this hit and I wasn't able. I hear such great things about it. Do you warm yours in the oven?

  12. The only food reaction I've ever had was to a Chinese food dish, so I"ve been quite choosy and tended to go for more simple things with Chinese food since, like egg rolls.

    1. That's understandable. Right now, I won't eat anything at the local place that went to before. But eggs rolls, or more so, veggie rolls is something on my to make at home, list.

      Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Before no. Only to taste the bake to see how it worked, but very rarely ever to eat them, eat them.

Now though, I'm digging the stuff.
