BIG BIRD GUTS

Today I paint the movie room yellow.  I've upgraded it to movie slash reading room.  Slash peaceful, I can't believe it took us this long to swap the house around, my husband is brilliant, room.

But see, that's too long.

Anyway, time to get one wall done.  I made this little sign below but no matter what I do, frickin' Blogger keeps screwing with the background and making it not white and the words, not lemon tart yellow.

That's right.  We went with Lemon Tart.  When we saw it we both liked it at the same time.  So that works for me.

Though right now, I'm a tad nervous that the room will look like someone shot Big Bird all over the walls.

Minus the feathers.

  1. Hmmm...well, if it does turn out to look like that, I have plenty of feathers you can put on the wall. Because really, if it's going to look like someone shot Big Bird all over the walls, it HAS to have feathers :) Seriously, I like the color and I think it will look great!

    1. Because I am so good at it...plus things keep getting in my way...like kidney stones and root canals, so, since my husband is a professional, perhaps I will wait for him!

    2. You are the second one here today with a professional painter Hubby. What rooms did you want to paint? I'd like to eventually re-paint all of ours.

Kidney stones and root canals - yikes!

    3. I want my bedroom and my son's bedroom done. We're going to do something with metal panels on the wall in our room, so there's not going to be THAT much painting, but hes also building out my closet some, so i suppose i can be patient. My sons room I could do myself, but there are so many legos! Its easier to keep the door closed for now!

And my husband has a blog attached to mine, if you ever wanted to look for ideas. He does all kinds of home improvements too!

    4. I had to go looking for his blog. It's all the way at the bottom. Looks like he enjoys the projects. Very nice stuff.

For me, I want an industrial prep kitchen, in my new yellow house with white trim.

    2. I have them for real too :) but I don't often wear my yellow shoes... too fancy only for special occassions. I usually wear them with midnight blue top and very dark jeans :)

    1. No Big Bird farts. Though I may use that for a blog title. That's pretty funny.

    1. Love your longer hair. The last time I saw your pic it was short. Both work on you well.

  8. I think you should make a sign for the door that says "Welcome To The Lemon Tart Room!" That's a cool name.

    1. I laughed out loud. I love that sign. We have a wee bit of space above the door where it might fit.

      Brilliant.

    1. As soon as I opened the can and saw the real paint, I wasn't concerned about Big Bird guts anymore.

      Really love the wall.

  12. My husband is a professional painter. He's really good at knowing how a color will look on a wall. He usually recommends a lighter color because they always look darker on the walls. Hope you love it.

  14. My mom painted the kitchen an ugly green. Wouldn't have been so bad if she hadn't painted over the cabinets too. Luckily she remodeled the whole kitchen and looks much better now

    1. Ugly green. I saw a house last night that was painted ugly green but then I thought, they probably wouldn't like my Lemon Tart Room.

  15. So did you paint? I looked up the colour on the internet and it's so nice! Happy colours bring on good moods; they really make you feel good. Share your results once you're done. I'm so curious to see how pretty it'll look.

    1. Every spring and summer I go into my yellow. It's all about yellow, yellow, yellow.

If I have enough paint, I'm doing the front door, too. Just so darn pretty.

  17. P.S. I just looked up the color too and though Paul doesn't know it yet, I have a feeling we'll be painting our walls soon! ;)
