Fire & Ice

Today I'm sore and achy.  Think it might be the snow and ice cold air, aggravating my spine.  The plan was to go couponing but for right now, I'll wait it out and see if it gets warmer.

If not, I'll stay by the fireplace in the movie room.  Here's the picture from the couch.   If my blog had sound, you'd hear the popping fire and crackles as the wood burns.

Tim teases me but I tell ya, I love to make tea, curl under a blanket and read by fake firelight.  Meanwhile, I just looked outside and the flakes are bigger now.  I forget if that means more or less snow.  Either way, it's cold.  Burrr.

How bout you?

Got snow today?  Ice?  Rain?  Cold?  Or sunshine?

We have rain today. Good, wash away all the crappy pollen.

  2. Love the fake fireplace! Enjoy. Started with pouring rain this morning while the dogs sniffed every blade of grass in the yard, but now we have snow. Rest up and feel better :)

  3. We're rainy right now but the cold and snow are only hours away. I need to go to the store before it arrives.

  4. Rain, rain, and more rain! But I don't mind because it'll help clean up the streets, and water the gardens. Hope you're feeling better soon!

    2. Martha: It's amazing how much better rain water does on my garden, compared to hose water.

Mama G: Can't wait to give you the tour of our new place. We just gotta get it painted and finish a few odds and ends.

  5. I love a fire. Fake or otherwise. It is pouring cats and dogs here. If I remember correctly, small flakes = more snow. Big flakes = less snow. But, I tested that theory out last month. Not so much.

    1. Right after I posted this, the flakes went back to teeny tiny again. Normally, I don't mind winter but yesterday, it was really making me achy.

Hope your migraine is better today. I haven't been out and about to catchup yet on the blogs.

  6. It's 27 degrees and snowing up a storm. I have no idea how that happens after it being 80 yesterday.

  7. Do you really want to know that it is supposed to reach 12 C. today and that as soon as I finish reading blogs I am going out to build a raised garden out of old bricks? Everything is blooming and it is gorgeous!

  10. Sorry to hear about back problems. We haven't seen any snow this year and it has been springy warm for months, but this week we have a sudden freeze with temps down to 10*C, I love it since it reminds me of Autumn

  14. Cold and it snowed for us too. I'm so tired of winter I almost wept in desperation.

Well, okay, that's an exaggeration, but I wasn't happy about it, I can tell you! :)

    1. Yesterday was the first day when I didn't enjoy seeing the show. I had it in my head to go out and about and for my spine to be warm.

I nearly wept in frustration - but instead, I put Lucy on and waited for it to pass.

    1. It really is. It's a small space but really, for just reading or watching a movie, it's perfect.

And when I'm in there, I actually rest. Instead of think, oh I gotta do dishes, laundry or bills.

I had no idea one little room could be so great.
