Chubba Bubba Mondays: Eight Bricks

Welcome Boogerbutts and Chubba Bubbas.  Today's Monday and if you're joining us for the first time, welcome.  If you're a regular Bubba Butt, nice to see you again.

So, how'd ya'll do this week?  Lose?  Gain?  Did you have fun?  Eat anything good?  Eat anything really good?

Please do share, it's fun, I promise.

As for me, I got on the sale yesterday and I'm down 3.4 pounds, which means a total of 8.4 in the last 14 days.

That's EIGHT BRICKS of restaurant butter or marge.  Well, almost eight and half, but I'll call it eight for now.  Only I don't have any pictures of bricks and you're not seeing my bubba belly.  But I will show you what it takes to feed me.

Cost?  A lot.  And this doesn't include the nuts, dried fruits and whole meals I still eat.  But, I've stopped gaining, the edema continues to go down, whilst energy levels rise.  Add to it, eye whites getting whiter, skin looking good and get this, the color and shine in my hair is even coming back.

What the heck?  How cool is that?

    1. Thanks. The sad thing is, all that will be gone in no time.

  2. That's quite a bounty you have there.

I'm not at home this week, so I don't have a scale to see how good (or bad) I was. I know I was down on Friday, but that doesn't mean anything!

I'm sure I won't lose this week, but I am still exercising (there's a small fitness room at the hotel and I plan on walking with my husband after his class). Hopefully, that will keep me from gaining. Guess I'll find out when I get home!!

    1. Such a bounty indeed. I feel lucky.

How's the food there? Good I hope. Congrats on being down Friday.

Woohoo to exercise. Very cool on the fitness room. I've never been in one of those before, but I saw one as I passed once to the vending machine.

    1. Holy cow, go you. That's 28 sticks of household butter (depending), and 7 sticks of restaurant. Pretty darn cool.

Hope to see you next Monday.

  4. Keep on the weight loss, rather envious but if I had all that vedge I would be back in hospital! It sucks I should not eat healthy whilst I'm also not allowed the good stuff that's bad for you either LOL

    1. That is rough. Is there any produce you can enjoy? Or will it all land you back in the hospital?

    2. I can have most vedge but it has to be boiled to death :-(

I can eat most things but no red meat, no coco based product (chocolate!!!!) Bananas are out as are dates etc. Booze is a big no no. Milk and OJ limited and never with meals (not that I did).

I could have any of these things in small amounts but even then it would mean more frequent trips for treatment but having not had them for the last two years I don't see the point of going back to them :-)

    3. Boiled to death - oy, that is a rough one. So would soups be okay? I made a chicken soup last week that simmered for two hours. Sometimes I do three hours.

  5. Great job. That's a lot of butter in only 14 days. Love the mountain of fresh veggies and fruits. I didn't grow my own cukes this year and am having trouble finding good ones at the market.

    1. 28 home sticks of butter (depending). No good cukes your way? No small produce stands? I will teleport you half of mine. I've got plenty to share.

    1. It was fun doing this photo this morning. Took awhile to get everything out of the house an outside. Thanks.

How'd your being outdoors go this week?

    2. So far so good. The fort we built is just a step out the back door. Even if it is raining, I can still have a coffee and a sit out there. Love it.

    3. That is very cool. Something peaceful about having a nice cup of something warm, outside. Good deal.

  7. Veggies look yummmy! Congrats on the 8.4 pounds; that's really impressive. I think we need to get a juicer--our smoothies in the AM are a bit too chunky with the blender, and chunky isn't nice in a beverage. There's just something nasty about encountering lumps in one's beverages.

    1. Do you have a Bed Bath & Beyond? I signed up for their email promotions just to get the 20% coupon, which I was allowed to use on my Omega. Took 76 smackers off the bill.

Yes, lumps can get unpleasant, especially kale and other greens that just make it more sludgy. Although, if you get a good VitaMix, you might not have that problem, plus get to keep the fiber of the fruit and veg.

The VitaMix I wanted was TOOO HIGH, so I went with the Omega Vrt 350 HD and I LOVE It.

  9. Great job, Congrats! I went up just a little this week. Not overly happy about that, but it could be worse. Yesterday walked 2 miles, today not as far, but still walked. It's feeling good to start exercising again!

    1. Two miles, woohoo. I can't wait until I can start walking again. You and I gotta hit the damn this year.

Congrats on the weight loss and it's fab that your hair and skin are improving.

    1. I got a good deal on it. But yeah, it can be. Though I most always have it in the house. So flippin' good.

  14. That's a good result in just 14 days Whisk. It's got to be motivating you to continue.

I used to have a juicer and when I first used it to make carrot juice I was utterly shocked at how much it took. If I had a huge garden I'd do it again, but the cost of produce is ridiculous these days.

    1. Thanks. The thing that's the best is the less swelling in my hands and feet. And belly, for that matter. Just the overall bloat, going down.

Carrot juice, yum. So good. There's a company name Earthbound Farms. I signed up for their emails and each week I get to print two veg coupons from each computer. I score organic carrots for next to nothing at Wally with these coupons.

But yes, the cost is crazy high for produce. Just nuts. And a shame.

    1. The food goes so flippin' fast too. But like you mentioned, it's a good investment and right now, just to have energy and not be in pain, is a great thing.

  17. Cheers! Clink-clink...oh wait, 8 bricks of butter - you don't want to blow that on whine ;D

You've done an amazing job. It's taken me a couple years to lose weight and that was while training to run a marathon...yep I like food a little TOO much

    1. I love that you ran a marathon. That's so very cool. I say though, you don't look overweight to me, at all.

  18. I'm happy eating well. Gain? or lose? Still hovering within the same weight, fun and cold downunder weather.

Eating vege and fruits are good but I must admit butter and sugar are also good to certain extent :p
