Butt to Butt

Writing Desk

We had to wait for Igor to clean, before Tim could put together my other Christmas gift.  Which consisted of 50 thousand screws, lots of wood and one tiny bottle of glue.

Tim asked if the desk earned him a 30-hour Skyrim marathon and a get out of jail free card.  So with the power of my new whisk, I granted his wishes.

It's good to be Queen.

Darth Vader

Normally I'd keep my last post up for longer because the comments are funny and I enjoy reading them.  But since I'm on deadline, I best be moving along.

Only I don't have an idea for a post, so please enjoy this picture I found online and forgot about.

And that folks, concludes another broadcast day.

Secret Asian Man

All this time I thought the song was Secret Asian Man.  But then recently I learned it was agent man.  Not Asian man

But I tell you what.  Even though I know the real words now, I still hear Asian man.  I can't un-hear it.

And in other news, Igor survived his first night home and our rugs are beautiful.  Meanwhile, my Christmas vacation is over, and I'm off to chop veg and make brownies.

You Boogerbutts have a great one.

Igor

Dig my new toy, his name is Igor and he is a Christmas gift from Tim.  Igor arrived this afternoon and Wiggy and Bug are scared of him.  Hope it stays that way, because Bug killed my old Dyson.  He was seven and his name was Fred.

And while I meant to show you the real Igor, his belly is full and no one needs to see that.  So I put the box on the table and when I pulled up the photos, there was my new apron.

Bonus XP for me.

Meanwhile, it's my last day of vacation and I'm about to vacuum the crap out of the bedroom, hallway and ceiling.

I love this gift.

Candy Cane Dust

I had leftover candy canes from our tiny tree so you know what I did? I turned them into candy cane dust.  Not all of them, just some.  The rest I crumbled in the food processor, and then mixed with melted Giredelli milk chocolate.

And tad-do, a yummy dessert.

Only they're almost all gobbled up because we keep going to the freezer and taking out a few here and there.

Num, num, num.

To Make:

1) Crumble candy canes in a food processor.
2) Set aside a bit of the candy cane dust.
3) Melt the chocolate over simmering water.
4) When chocolate is half melted, remove from heat.
5) Mix with spoon and allow the rest to melt.
6) Mix in crushed candy cane and coat with chocolate.
7) Spread mixture on baking paper covered sheet/plate.
8) Sprinkle with lots of candy cane dust.
9) When done cooling (fridge or freezer), snap into bits.

Storage: We like ours from the freezer.  So yummy.

Skyrim Widow

Tim's building better armor in Skyrim, while using his new wireless X41's.  And I've become a gamer widow.

Except for when Warrior Poopyhead calls from the couch, asking for pizza, unable to pause because he's in another epic battle.

Back when we first started dating he told me that his Xbox didn't have a pause button, and I believed him.

Then not long after I saw him pause the game.

And that's when I developed the skill of pointing.  That's where I point at his warrior in game and say, "I think it's time for your character to die."  And true story, he ALWAYS dies.

Who's the big bad warrior now?

Eyeballs & Rocks

It's nearly January (winter for us), and there are peepers outside.  While this might not be exciting stuff, it's a blog.  And with my deadline looming, I've gotta write about something.

So peepers it is.

And since I couldn't find a good picture of peepers, please enjoy the following photo of eyeballs and rocks.

Taking Over Ivy's Blog

That's right.  She can take over my blog so I can take over her's.  And I am making it a Sleestak Christmas over here also.  Last year Ivy's did red shirt cookies so I thought I would combine the Star Trek theme with my Sleestaks.

Looks like Slee is way ahead of the competition as he gets the second Daily Double correct.  Have a great Christmas everyone.  And to Ivy who has no idea I am doing this right now, here's a freebie post toward your count.

By the way, I'm hungry.

Who Am I? Quiz 8

And why do I have a wand stuck in my nose?  Winners get a snot covered wand, and anything I find in Tim's pants.

Who Am I? Results for Quiz 7.

Pathfinder & Solstice Griddle

On the start of each season, we both get a gift.  And this Solstice it was Pathfinder for Tim, and a dessert cast iron for me.

I have always wanted this particular griddle, just for baking buttery crust desserts.  Num, num.

Meanwhile, Wiggy found one of her gifts and is crying, as she sits close to where it is.  How does she know it's hers?  Especially since it's not food.  What a little stinker head.

Cheers & Boogie Boogie.

Only the best dessert griddle, ever.

Tim Moved Christmas

Yeppers, he did.  So instead of doing it tomorrow, we'll celebrate tonight and have the weekend to play with our new toys.  So excited.

In other news, my migraine is gone.  Got it late last night right before bed.  Thankfully, I rested and no longer want to poke my own eyeballs out of my skull.

Meanwhile ... on Paradise Island.

I got new boots.  Not the right color to go with my apron, but that's okay. Just as long as they aren't blue.

Have a Very Scary Christmas & an Oogie Boogie New Year.

Dig My New Apron

That's right.  Wonder Woman.  One of the prep girls gave it to me for Christmas and I LOVE it.

Ugh

This is what I look like today.  Not a pretty site, but at least my slippers are fuzzy and my tea is warm.  Only I'm not sure if that's a lady bug, or tick in my hair.

21 December 2011

Scone Bones

I used the bone-shaped cutters and ta-da, scone bones for people.

In other news, I'm off to get Tim one more gift.  Then it's home to make homemade onion dip, shower, jams, and settle down for the night.

Hope you're having fun and eating lots of nummy things.

Cheers & Boogie Boogie.

20 December 2011

Quiet Night

After a sluggish day for us both, we stayed on the couch tonight and watched the The Perfect Host.  And you know what? I didn't care about a single character in that movie.

But it was super duper great to vegout under the Christmas lights, eat supper and have a quiet night.

And dig Miss Wiggy.  She's a very good napper.

Two Cookies and a Nap

I'm a wuss these days.  Stayed up late after a day of lab work, and I'm pooped.  So it's a cup of hot tea, two cookies and one nap, for me.

But first, I portioned two birds into wings, legs, thighs and one breast (bone-in), and saved the second breast for tonight.  It's seasoned and patiently waiting in the fridge.

Then I stashed the rest in the freezer drawer and once we've gobbled 'em up, I buy more, and get my good knife.

Love that.

Smoked Applewood Ham

Now that I eat meat, I tried smoked applewood ham in my skillet potatoes and cheese.  Only I added too much ham.

Next draft, I'll do a single layer of ham in the middle and keep the gold potatoes and cheese on the top.

Meanwhile, I found this ham at my local deli.  Each time I go, I get something new.  Got that from my mom.  Back when I was a kid, we'd always buy something new at the market.

Just for fun.

That's all from me.  It's way past our bedtime.  Game is still on but we're pooped.  Time to hit the slab.

'nighty night and boogie boogie.

19 December 2011

Skull & Cones

I love ice cream in the winter, way better than summer.  So I made homemade ice cream cones using my pizzelle iron and organic vanilla.

Just roll those babies right from the hot iron and bam, homemade ice cream cones.  Or quickly shape them over the bottom of a glass for ice cream cone cups.

I'd show you a picture of the cups, but I already gobbled them up.  And you know what?  They were gooooood.

But I didn't want to the pups to feel left out, so I froze doggy food in skull and bone ice cube trays.

Now we all have something nummy.

Who Am I? Quiz 7

To win 18 snowballs and 2 dead worms, answer these:

1) Who am I?
2) Why am I so grumpy?
3) What is my special Christmas talent?

Here are the results from Quiz 6.

In other news, it's Saturday, I don't have to be anywhere, it's snowing and, I have four raw chickens in the fridge.

Double hot dog.

What's for Supper?

I'm thinking cold pizza for us.  Although a hamburg doesn't sound bad either.

Yesterday I had roast beef and horseradish cheese.  What a great combo.  So perfect together.

Meanwhile, I've got chores that need done and zero energy to do them.  Long day at work.  Greenhorn did great.  Now I'm off until Wednesday.  Think I'll skip the chores and go make hot tea, using my new raspberry creamer.

Ah ... it's heaven in a cup.

Off to the Salt Mines

It's a late start today because I'm training another greenhorn.  But this one did well last week.  Then with any luck I'll be able to go play in prep.  Followed by 2 days off with Tim, and a trip to Barnes.

Not much of a blog, but there ya go.

22 posts to go.  2+2=4.  Hot dog.

Santa's Backup Plan

244th Post

I missed my 244th post celebration dance.  I was so busy hijacking Tim's blog, not doing laundry and shopping, that I failed to notice that I past post 244.  And I LOVE 4's.  Yet, I missed it.

Well anyway, here's my celebration boogie.  Which is better than no boogie at all.  One should always boogie.

Dick'n Around

Did I say I was going to do chores all day?  Because I don't remember it that way.

I dunno where the day went? I blogged, ate lunch with Tim and then went to the marts, K and W.  Before I knew it, my day was over.

But dig my new hot tea creamer.  It's white chocolate raspberry and it's filled with ingredients that I can't pronounce, but I don't care.  It's yummy in my tummy.

That's all from me.  You Boogerbutts have a good one.

Hijacked Tim's Blog

I took over Tim's blog and I'm offering 20% off your entire purchase of blankets.

Click Gothridge Manor for details and 20% coupon.

Now that we're selling, I can really see that sewing room become a writing room.

And that makes me happy. VERY happy.

In food news, more paprika chicken for lunch, with sweet tea.  Followed by chores, chores and more chores.

Home today.  Might try Wally World in a bit.  I'm out of this yummy new creamer.  I think having it in my hot tea again, would really make cleaning so much better.

Cheers & Boogie Boogie.

Guess What? Guess What?

Came home to find another blanket sale in my inbox.  And you know what I'm doing now? A little jig.

In other news, work blew chunks today.  Not the work itself, just that prep got harassed for something beyond our control.

That sucked.

Meanwhile, Tim's got a game tonight and I'm torn between cleaning or watching a movie.  Or maybe I'll hit Wally World.  But before I do any of that, it's time to roast another bird.

And that brings me to 28 posts to go.  Thanks for reading.

My First Sale

Guess what?  Just made my first Etsy blanket sale to someone that I don't know.  Now I'm excited and energized.

Makes me want to do the work to get the rest sold, business closed, and sewing room switched to an office.

In food news, we're out of peanut butter balls.  It's kind of like peanut butter pie only it's balled and eaten with a spoon.

Only I need to come up with a better name because peanut butter balls, just doesn't sound desserty enough.

That's all from me, folks.  Best get to the market for more peanut butter ingredients, and probably pick up another bird.

Cheers & Eat Well.

09 December 2011

being human

Have you seen this show?  The BBC one, not the American one.  We're digging it.  They make us laugh and the characters are likeable.

Wanted to watch an episode before I hit the slab but, I'm pooped.

In other news, today I trained a 3rd greenhorn.  And she did FANTASTIC.

Hot dog.

Well Boogerbutts, this concludes another broadcast day.  Meanwhile, I'm closer to finishing my Blogger Challenge.

Double hot dog.

Kinda Got My Wish ...

Where's the snow?

This late in the season and still nothing.  Nada.  Zilch.  Zip.

I'm bummed.  And here I was wishing for a BIG snow storm during my 3 days off.  I even have a new book, all ready to read.

That Paladin, he must be hogging all the good snow.  No fair.
