Bagels and Pretzels

Awhile back, I shaped bagel dough into braids, twists, pretzels and wedges.  The wedges were my favorite because they toasted great, and held a good amount of white chicken meat with mayo.

After being a VegHead for most my life, I never thought chicken and bagels would become my favorite meat and bread combination.  But I love it, and often roast a chicken and bake bagels for the same meal.

So simple.  So good.

  1. Oh my God. I am so jealous. I am not a baker. I'm a cook, but I suck at baking. My mother is a wonderful baker, so I don't know where I went wrong. But your bread looks beautiful. Is there any food more versatile, more comforting, than a beautiful loaf of bread. I am thinking, no way, Jose.
    Love your site!!

    Happy Eating :-)

PS: I love breads too. Grounding wheaten breads are my favorite. So good.

  11. Hi Robyn - I was just thinking about you and then you posted a comment. Glad to hear he is safe and sound.

The recipe is not mine to publish, but, I will do a blog about the book it came from. I love this bread book and from what I understand, a revised or newer edition is available for sale.

Sending you hugs and good wishes :-)
