There's a Bee in My Bonnet

Today, I woke with a bee in my bonnet. Or, more true, a rash on my skin. But they feel about the same. Itchy! So I crawled out of the coffin, got dressed and made myself a cup of warm lemon tea. Which is just water, lemon and herbal stevia extract (not that stevia crap sold on supermarket shelves. That stuff is pure piss. Don't even get me started).

But I digress.

It took me 4 weeks to get rid of 80 percent of my belongings and it might take me another 4 to put everything back together including plant seeds, touch up paint and finish making blankets. But with this bee in my bonnet, today should go a long way in being closer to done.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Big blanket for a friend who LOVES cats.
2 blankets for her cats.

  1. Her cats must be big Jedi fans.
If we ditched that much of our possessions, it would take a scary amount of money to replace them.

    1. Hi Alex - None of of my 80 percent will be replaced :-)

  2. Alex, the idea is NOT to replace them. Attractive blankets Ivy. I hope your friend enjoys them. Sorry about the bee in your bonnet today.

PS: I got more Canadian asparagus the other day. Oh my yum !!! And dig this, I even ate the bottoms. They weren't hard.

  4. I felt pretty good after cleaning out the drawers in the bathroom. Can't seem to get motivated to work on other rooms, though. Some day. Some day. :)

  8. OUch. Go away rash. Rain showers today for me so I'm moving some furniture around for some corners cleaning.

  9. Your header photo should be your Christmas card this year, with the words "everyone asleep in their beds waiting for St. Nick"

  10. In this house the cats claim ALL the blankets. There is a patina of fur of everything.
I hope your rash has gone. They are sooooo irritating. And even if I am good during the day I am able to scratch myself red raw in my sleep.

  14. These fabrics look terrific for blankets. It must feel good to make something from them and get them out of the house, I'm all for that. Many of my fabrics are way, way smaller, some smaller than napkin size.

      Do you quilt? I do.

    2. No I don't quilt if you mean making a piece larger than say two feet by two feet. I "play" with fabric, that's it!

    3. I call it playing with fabric, too. Thanks for answering.

      Happy Weekend :)

  17. That fabric! I love it! Your friend is going to love it.

This spring has been the worst in many years for me for allergies and thus, eczema. I have tried a cream that works but it is insanely expensive but now as expensive as the crap carcinogenic cream that my doctor prescribed. The trees are not blooming like they were so I am better but it is hellish to be itchy and the more you itch the worse it gets. I can't take Benadryl as it makes my restless legs unbearable.

    1. I've never had eczema but my aunt does. Yikes, Birdie. Sorry to hear you have it. I wish these creams were not insanely expensive.

I've heard about Benadryl and the weird side effects from Benadryl. One person told me it turns them into a zombie. Yikes!

  18. I love the blankets, Ivy! I also love your header. :) I have eczema so I know how annoying it can get when one is itchy. I am so sorry about your rash, and I hope it clears up quickly. Hugs.
