Gadzukes! It Worked!

The white creamy flesh of the zuke, severed as an inexpensive way to add nutrients and bulk, without compromising on flavour or texture. Add to it, that summer squash is 95 percent water (compared to winter squash at 81 percent), and we have a truly cooling dessert.

As always, my ice creams and frozen yums, are dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free, soya-free, refined sugar-free, artificial dye-free, and allergy-friendly.

But that's far too long a list, so I just call them ice creams and frozen, yums. Those looking for the how-to, enlarge the last two photos.

    1. Quick tip, taste all the fruit prior to freezing to make sure it's goooood. Same with the zuke, as over-grown ones can be bitter and overly pesticides ones can be both gross and stinky.

  5. Cold sounds good but I'm not much of a squash fan or pineapple though my family loves that sweet fruit.

    1. I swear, cannot taste the zuke. Just there for cooling, nutrients and bulk (because organic mangos here anyway, cost a pretty penny).

    1. It's super refreshing but if you're looking to not use maple syrup, I'm having great luck with sorghum syrup.

  17. It does look really good Ivy. I have to say I've been skeptical though. Yes, it's you, and I should have more faith, but it's free of everything I eat ice cream for. lol

    Plus, whenever you say Zukes I think, 'Dog treats? It's full of dog treats?'

    Zukes is a popular brand of healthy dog treat. I only learned today that it is also 'slang' for zucchini. ;)

    1. That's understandable, if you enjoy ice cream for the milk, fat and sugar, then these lighter ice creams and frozen yums, might not be for you.
