Chocolate Fudge Cake

Please enjoy a slice of Chocolate Fudge Cake.  No eggs, no dairy.  Super duper fudgy and light at the same time.  And get this, I made enough frosting for two full layers.  Not like my first cake, when the back end of it went bare.

I'm getting closer.

Maybe next time I'll make enough frosting for four layers.  Until then, have a groovy Tuesday and boogie boogie.

  3. About 500ml (half a litre) of cream (before whipping) is enough to get icing for an average sized cake of two layers :) When you whip it you will get more than a litre of the icing or even more if you add something more in it too, like some caramel or pudding or whatever....

    1. Hi Dezzy. That does sound yummy. The one I wrote for this cake was an agave vegan vanilla frosting.

No cream anywhere in sight. But that's a good idea for when I get into dairy-based frosting. Thanks.

    2. the point of my comment is that about 1liter of any icing is the quantity you need to ice an average cake in the middle, on top and around.

    3. Thanks, Dezzy. I found that 100g of my veghead-friendly base frosting, gets me one round covered. Though I don't like a lot of frosting, so that still might be too little frosting for some. Especially those who like their cake covered on the sides.

    4. here in Europe the sponge layer has to have the same height as the icing layer :) A finger of sponge, a finger of icing, a finger of sponge :) We prefer icing to sponge.... we're decadent like that

    5. Sounds like you found a system that works best for you. Which is part of the fun. Add a little or a lot. Whatever you like. It's all good.
