True or False?

  1. True. And sometimes, they're just different.

  2. Well...usually false, but I am sure if I looked hard enough I could find exceptions.

  3. Most cases they are not any better, most worse... just updated to fit the times. I rather see the originals get re-released to the theaters over a reboot.

  4. I'm going to answer my own post ....

I HATED the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Absolute crap.

    1. Augustus Gloop would agree... Burton has made some bad directing choices over the last few years. He needs to stop wanting to be Woody Allen of the weird... more Sleepy Hollow, less Dark Shadows...

    2. What did you think of the Burton/Depp take on Mr Wonka's character?

I didn't like it and it made me mad. The team of Depp/Burton turned Mr. Wonka into a gross icky, unfunny character.

Hated it, hated it, hated it.

  5. I'd totally go see that movie. Storm Troopers, blasters, music. It's got it all.

  6. Usually not, but on rare occasions...

  7. It depends on the movie. Some are an improvement, and some are a total fail.

  8. I can't even remember any right now that I've actually seen!

  9. That's a tough call! I love singing in the rain with Gene Kelly but this is pretty damn awesome!

  10. I have never seen a remake that I like better than the original. Although some are just as crappy as the original was, LOL!

  12. Oh, that pic is funny!

I've seen a few remakes I liked better than the original--very few. Sabrina was one--but then, I really love Harrison Ford.

  13. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. And I won't watch the new Charlie and the chocolate factory since the original was perfect - and Gene Wilder superb.

  14. Excellent post. Most times no. Originals I loved better than sequels - The Manchurian Candidate, Bad Seed, and The Hustler. Cheers!!

  15. Depends on the remake. The original True Grit, for example, is pointless (I can't stand the Duke), but the Jeff Bridges version is brilliant.

  16. I am sure sometimes it is true, but I can't think of any at the moment.

  17. I'm with Jen B (comment above mine). I'm sure it's true sometimes, but, WAIT! True Grit! I like the remake of the movie True Grit better than the original.

  18. I have seen very few remakes that I liked better than the original. My head hurts too much to give any examples. When I feel better I'll be back. Oh, wait, I have one - Robo Cop Remake was better.
