Perfect Little Day

Poopyhead came home for lunch and surprised me with the rest of the afternoon off.  So we ate leftovers, Tim cleaned the kitchen and I cleaned the crapper, and shredded more.

Now, we're off to Barnes.

But first, dig these waffle sticks.  Made with organic spelt and mini-chocolate chips.  They might not look pretty, but they sure eat good.  This formula goes in the book.

And now, we're headed to Barnes.  Cookery magazines for me, writing for Tim, and shared drink for both.

Perfect little day.

  1. Now I want to go out to the bookstore and eat waffles. And maybe a tall ice coffee.

    1. Do you have a waffle iron?

I got this little one at Target for 20 bucks. It's a waffle stick iron. I thought it was a silly little toy, but I tell ya, it works great.

The booklet told me not to use spray so I did the veg oil like it told me and bam, haven't had to re-season it since.

I tell ya, Anne. I love this dinky little machine. It's so much fun.

    2. what does it mean to re-season it? To wash it? I know that our nagymamas didn't wash their iron pans for palacsintas!

    3. No, never wash my palacsinta skillets, either. Are you kidding, my Mamam would come up from the grave and yell at me in Hungarian.

Re-season I mean to say, add more oil to the hot grill area of the waffle iron. I only had to do it once and that was it. Very impressed with this little machine.

Where in the past, with my old waffle iron I always used spray oils. And it made my iron have a film. Never again.

PS: Haven't sat down to redo my blog yet but I think it'll be the first order of business once the house is done.

    1. I used to buy that stuff a lot but now that I coupon, I can't bring myself to pay the high-price. Though I have used it for icing way back when.
