Goodbye Ass Dialing - Hello Wilma

Yesterday Tim paid off Wilma.  Our zero interest loan is now closed and we own the washer outright.  So happy.

I love this machine.

Meanwhile, after shopping around for a new no-contract phone (we had Straight Talk), we settled on Net10 for 25 smackers a month, no hidden fees, no contract, no bullshit.

Which is what we like.  I can't ever see going back to contract phones after being free of them.  No way.

There's a few plans to choose from, including a $20/30 day unlimited carry over.  Tim's job gives him a $20 monthly allowance on mobiles, which would leave us owing only $1.20 in tax for 30 days.  That's pretty good.  Just have to see how many minutes we really do use, since we share the phone.

Either way, it's goodbye ass dialing piece of crap phone and hello Wilma, the best washer in the entire trailer park.

It's gonna be a good day.

  5. Contract phones rip people off coming and going. I just don't see how folks pay those outrageous fees. Happy for the Happy Whisk! Cheers!!

    1. We looked at a lot of different non-contract phones and some of them were high as well. Overall though, I see more and more good deals, which is nice.

Also, the idea of signing a contract doesn't work for me at all. And then to get out, pay a fee. No thanks.

      Cheers to you as well.

    1. hahaahaha. Great comment. Send her a card. You made me laugh out loud.

We got the new phone at Wally's for 19.88 but I found out they are sold at Dollar General, Target, BigK and a few other places.

Just our first day so I'm curious how the service is.

I also don't do contract phones... it's a waste of good money.

    1. Love the Speed Queen. I wouldn't go with any other brand, as of this moment.

Agreed on the contract phones. Crazy prices.

  12. Ah, Wilma looks lovely! Congrats on owning her outright. :) I don't do contract phones either--I have a little AT&T GoPhone that I pay $25 for 3 months' worth ($1/call, 10 cents a minute). My kinda phone. I don't use it as much as others use their phones, though.

    1. I saw that ours has an option similar to that where it's for more than one month, unlimited rollover and x amount of minutes.

We don't use ours a lot but Tim does use it for work and then on weekends, I take it shopping. So we'll see what we need and then bring it down to a cheaper deal if that can work.

Any money saved makes me a happy whisk.

  13. Congrats on Wilma being officially yours. Woot! Happy day!

Glad you got a good phone deal too. We have even worse rates up here because we have very limited competition. We hardly ever use the cell phone anyway, so we just do pay as you go - put $100 on it and it lasts a year. We are coming up on our year and still have $20 left on the phone (that is how little we use it), but the $20 will carry over if we add more before it expires, which I plan to do.

    1. There is a few plans like that here too, pay $100 and it goes for a year. Not too bad, really.

Thanks - super happy to own her outright.

Read your post, glad the snow is melting. Like you I did not want to put my snow boots back on. And I like the snow, but no, I want to wear sneakers and cooler clothes.

    1. Tim and I laughed at the question mark person in your group photo. That is a little funny. I am jealous that you guys all got to hang out like that. So much fun.

What did your wife say about the Boobie Bath Girl? Imagine if your wife had the password to your blog? Now that's a post I want to read for sure.

      Cheers and boogie boogie.

  17. Regarding your comment at my photoblog, I'm finding it easy to manage, but a photoblog's entirely different from a writing blog. At the moment, I've got blogs set up to go for the rest of the month there, so even posting every day hasn't been a problem.

    1. Thanks for answering.

That is very cool. I'm glad to hear that you're finding it easy to manage the two. I don't know that I'd be able to pull it off as smoothly as you're doing.
