Would You Let Your Husband Cut Your Hair?

Never made it home last night in time to make burgers and rolls.  But I did get to test my Easy Bake Oven, on leftover frozen take-out crappy pizza.  Let me tell ya, that little fan oven did a mighty good job.

I found myself with elbows on counter, hands on my cheeks, watching the pizza.  Just like I did when I was a kid, only then it was a little tin of cake batter, and a light bulb.

After that, I gave my husband my good sewing scissors and he lopped off a bunch of my hair.  Was down to my butt, now just past my shoulders.  I love playing with a new do.

Only I woke up not looking so cute because half-way through the night I had to remove my curlers.  Which meant I woke to half-curly, half not-so-much.  With a cowlick as a bonus.

This is not the look I wanted.  So up it went.  But that's okay, because Tim did a great job, and I can look cute tomorrow.

That's all from me.  Happy Saturday and boogie boogie.

My wife has cut my hair before. I trust her.

    1. Love my Easy Bake Oven. Though it's really not one, that's what I call it. Because it's a fan oven and about the size of an Easy Bake.

  2. Your hair was very long! And yes, I would definitely let my husband cut my hair. In fact, I've been trying to get him to do it for the past year.

    1. Hope you get him to do it. Tim does mine each time I need it lopped. So easy just to do it here at home.

    2. Your hair was down to your butt and he cut it to just below your shoulders, wow that was quite a drastic haircut. I have my guy cut my hair as well. The first time was on our 3rd date. On the second date I told him I needed a haircut and he mentioned he knew how. He explained how he could section it, pin up the layers and trim the ends using his fingers. So on the third date I was seated on a stool in his kitchen and he placed a cape around my shoulders and took his real hair shears and trimmed off an inch and a half removing the split and uneven ends. I dashed to the bathroom after he was finished to inspect his handiwork. I was impressed, it was the best haircut I could ever remember getting. And it was free! I saved over $65 by skipping the trip to the salon. Right now there is only one person I trust to take the shears to my locks, and that is my boyfriend. I have saved hundreds of dollars on haircuts since he became my stylist. I tell him when I want it trimmed and he does it for me. I have received mixed responses when I tell friends that my boyfriend cuts and braids my hair for me. A few think I am crazy to let him do it, while others tell me I am extremely lucky that not only will he do it for me, but that he does such a great job.

    3. Yeppers, from my butt to just under my shoulder area. My hair grows fast and I've done this a few times before. Just chop it off every now and again. Makes things fun.

Saw your Google page. Lots of braids. Do you have a blog?

Hair cuts cost that much money? For what? That kind of money, I could not do that. Wow.

    4. No I do not have a blog. I really do like braids as you can see. I have gotten my boyfriend to braid my hair for me. We look at Youtube videos and he then tries it on me. I have gotten french, english, dutch, fishtail, french twist and side braids. I feel really pretty and feminine when my hair is braided. It is classic beauty, well done braids never go out of style, I can style my hair in so many ways with no cutting required. The big thing about the haircut being that expensive is that they throw in that "long hair extra" charge. Even for just a trim, one friend of mine who lives in Long Island went to get hers trimmed and they told her it would be $200 and she was not even asking for color. She walked out. Long hair is not a big money maker for the salon, so I guess they just want to find a way to get more money. Needless to say, I have a big smile every time I hear what others pay at the salon knowing mine are FREE.

    5. Wow, I cannot even imagine paying those prices for something like hair. Now, baking toys, for me anyway, that's a different story. But hair? Yikes. No thanks.

So how come no blog? Just by reading your comments here and seeing all those fun braids, you seem to be someone that would have fun with a blog.

  3. how come you never ever posted a pic of you? What's with the bloggers hiding their real images?

    2. but you do know that the longer you hide your image the more people imagine you as a 400 pounds lady with moustaches and hairy legs :PPP

  4. My wife cuts mine but never the other way round.

Once just before a VERY important meeting she forgot to put the grader on and only realised when she got to the top. My boss took one look (he was at the meeting) and burst out laughing!!! Good times

  5. I cut my own once. In the shower. No mirror. I'm amazed I didn't scalp myself.

  6. I'm not married, but if I were I would only let him cut my hair if he had experience. He wouldn't necessarily have to be a licensed barber - just experience cutting people's hair. Other than that - heck NO! You are brave. Cheers!!

  8. In answer to your post title...NO. If you knew my husband, you wouldn't even ASK me that question. You'd already know the answer! :)

Although, I think he purposly does things badly when he doesn't want to do them. He's evil that way.

    1. There was a TV sitcom where the man did stuff on purpose badly, so the wife wouldn't ask him anymore. For the life of me, I cannot recall the show.

    2. There was a sitcom, Malcolm in the Middle where the wife Lois came home with half her hair cut as the salon raised their prices. She asks Hal to even it up for her and he discovers he is good with the hair shears. So you never know what you may unleash in your guy.

  9. I wonder though, I think you could probably do a full cut really well. Especially with all the mini painting you do. That detail stuff.

  10. Only two people out of the seven billion on this planet are allowed to take scissors to my head. My husband isn't one of them.

  13. After all the girly-girlifying stuff you pull on your hubby's blog, is it wise to let him cut your hair? You are a trusting soul, I must say.

  14. I would trust mine with my hair too. He is a real artist with his hands, so I only imagine it would extend to hair. Never thought to ask him, though.

  15. I let my husband cut all mine off last night. I went from hair half way down my back to between my jaw and ear lobe. He’s never cut hair with scissors before (he has shaved his own and he was my buzz cut barber when I had a buzz cut years ago) but he did a great job and saved me money at the hairdressers. I told him he’s my new hairdresser now and to cut my hair when it needs it.
