Take a Look at My Goodies

Change of plans.  Gonna skip painting the bedroom this week.  Instead, I'm rebuilding my work space with all these Valentine's Day gifts that Tim got me.

So far I've read part of the book, made waffles and pasta.  And even though I broke out in a rash when Tim spent the extra eight bucks for big stock pot with the pasta strainer, I used it tonight and I absolutely love it.

Love it!

So before I start to rebuild my kitchen and find space for these goodies, I'm going to toss together a big pot of veggie stock.  And the best part, I'm using the pasta strainer for easy stock making fun.

Brilliant.

Plus, check out the little pot with the steamer basket.  How cute is that?  Along with a counter top fan oven and toaster.  So fun.  And lastly, heart-shaped and smoochie face dough cutters.  Does my husband know me or what?

Meanwhile, on Friday I was so pooped from getting his office in shape that I didn't have the energy to make a simple dough.  So Tim made supper.  Veggie sticks, organic tater tots and turkey dogs.  He said the hot dogs were gourmet because he sliced them and then shredded my good Gruyère cheese, on top.

I love that man.

  4. panting in the bedroom is much better than painting the bedroom, methinks....
OMG love the presents, especially the waffle maker... I still don't have it in my house :( And the books seem delightful too! I've never actually had a cooking book, those are usually the most expensive ones, so I just buy cheap cooking magazines :)

    2. We used a coupon on the book. The waffle iron is fun. Veggies sticks ... Tim sliced carrots and celery and we dipped them in ranch. Gotta say, I really liked the meal.

    3. yep, for some time now I've been wanting one of those universal waffle makers which can also grill samiches :) and stuff, three in one :) Here's a recipe for amazing salty waffles, just make the dough and bake it in your waffle maker:
Mix 2,5dcl beer, with 4dcl of oil, 3 tsp salt, 100g sesame, 700g flour and 1tbsp baking powder.

    4. Thanks. I have never cooked/baked with beer but my Hungarian Mamam did when she baked her little lekvar cookies.

Just finished writing a cinnamon sugar wheaten waffle stick. Ate six of them. No, seven.

    1. That would be fun. Though I like painting as well, but the kitchen toys are just calling my name way too loudly to ignore. Plus, Tim removed our microwave this morning, so I've got open space to play.

  6. I've got a stock pot like that - great at Christmas for cooking the ham, making turkey stock from the carcass and mulled wine (not all at once I hasten to add).

    1. Hahaha, not all at once. That's pretty good.

I tell ya Alan, I'm about to toss veggie stock together and I'm excited. Then when chicken goes on sale again, chicken stock.

So many fun things to make. Thanks for stopping by today. Cheers and boogie boogie.

    1. Did you get yours from Target too? Which one did you get, the 4 liter or the 8 liter? Tim went with both because of all the good uses.

    2. I'll save you trip over to my blog =P

I got the 3q covered sauce pot - with the orange handles. They had it in red too but orange was so bright and fun.

I used it yesterday to make mac and cheese. Boring, but hey, I wanted to use that sucker!

    1. It was like Christmas. No Wilton baking products near you? If you have a Michael's, Wally's, or JoAnn, they are usually sold there.

      Every holiday some new shape.

Looks like you're having a nice holiday yourself, judging by your last two posts.
