Buttload of Halloween

I found a buttload of Halloween fabric whilst working on the office.  And instead of saving it for I don't know what? This year I'm going to use it for blankets, pillows, napkins and babuskas.

Meanwhile, my car gets pre-inspected today.  If it can't pass we go car shopping.

I feel better about it this time, where last time, not so much.  As was apparent by the blotchy red rash.

Not a good look.

You know what will be a good look?  Me showing up tomorrow at work, wearing my new Halloween babuska.  I have some old favorites but it's time to use the new fabric.

But for now, I need rest because yesterday work really sucked monkey balls, and I'd like not to have a repeat this weekend.  So I'm going to pop in season five of Charlie's Angels, snuggle with the puppies and clip coupons.

You Boogerbutts take care.

PS: Autumnal Equinox hits 4:44 Sunday.  All 4's.  I LOVE IT.

Wait? How did the best new plate in the world, get in here?

  2. Love the spider fabric even though I hate spiders. Enjoy Charlie's Angels - ever see the movies with Cameron Diaz et al? They were pretty fun :)

  9. what's a 'babuska' in your meaning, Ivy?
Here in Europe 'babushka' is another name for those lovely 'Matryoska dolls' from Russia

    1. Yes, my Hungarian grandmother had those dolls - along with the wonderful doilies.

we grew up using the term babuska, as in the wrap around our heads. Never once allowed to work in her kitchen WITHOUT a babuska. Not ever.

Still something I live by, today.

It boils my blood when I see women in cookery videos with their hair all about. I just want to wrap their head in a babuska, just like those little dolls wear.

    2. ah, yes, you mean a headscarf. Grannies wear such babuskas :) here too :) but they usually tie it under their chin not behind their head so they look funny like those little Russian dolls :)

We even buried our own grandmother with a babuska around her head ....

    3. ah, just noticed that this girl in your sidebar also wears a red babuska while baking :)

    4. When I was little I wore the babuska under my chin. I remember my grandma fixing it so, just before we baked a big batch of cookies - with the BIGGEST block of chocolate I ever did see.

Now though, wear then tied around the back of my neck, but still by the same name.

    6. it's a logical name since in Russian 'babuska' means granny :)

  10. Desmond took my question away. But I do like the way babuska sounds when you say it! Now, if I only had a picture to go with it! :)

    1. Just a wrap around the head, covering the hair when in the kitchen. It's a term my Hungarian grandmother used all the time.

    1. I love those spiders with the wee blue bows. That's the fabric I'm using for dinner napkins and new babuskas. Though there is just enough for a small blanket so I'm not totally for sure.

  14. Love the fabrics! How did your car make out? We are taking ours in today to identify a problem. Hopefully not a big one. I haven't broken out in a rash about our car yet, but the tension in my shoulders is epic today! Hope you are doing well.

    1. Hey Jen - I need an ignition switch? Something like that and a few other things. Turns out it will pass inspection which gives me a year to get a new one.

Hope yours doesn't cost too much and it's an easy fix. And also that the tension goes away and NO RASHES for either of us, I'm hoping.

    2. You know what, I took the car to the mechanic and he said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I think we are really sensitive to any sound the car makes because of all the work we had done this summer. Our mechanic said to come back if we think the noise gets worse, but for today it wasn't anything. I'm happy with that. :)

So no more tension or rashes!!

    3. Oh my gosh, that's great that there is nothing wrong with the car. Very cool.
