Mean Little Sucker

It's Grill Time at the Manor.  Originally, we we wanted a side burner and a bigger grill area, but then decided to go with the smaller size to fit our back deck and budget.  And let me tell you, this is one mean little sucker, and he gets HOT.

Yesterday I made caramel onions, potatoes, flatbread.  And this morning, scrambled eggs and reheated leftover pizza.

I also burnt myself, dropped my spray over the side of the deck, watched my oven mitts blow away and battled with the black walnut tree fallings.

You know, things don't blow away when I cook/bake inside, which is something I never thought about before today.

    1. Thanks. Tim found that banner for me. I am learning that grilled food taste VERY good.

And it's fun. Minus all the stuff blowing away and falling black walnut stuff.

  4. You're much more talented on the grill than I am. I have to try making eggs.

    1. Totally I am not more talented. I know NOTHING about grilling. This will be an entirely new adventure in food for me.

The scramble was good. Will do it again and post the steps. I used cast iron.

  8. Looks like a great grill! We tossed our old grill and now all we have is a smoker the hubby got for $30 on craigslist. He and the smoker are still getting to know one another :)

    1. Hahahaha, I laughed at your comment about your hubby and the smoker. Told my hubby and he laughed as well.

      Too funny.

  9. Nice grill! Grilled food is my favorite. Sometime you and Tim should come east for Ken's home made ribs-they are pretty spectacular.

    1. I bet they are very good. I stole his eggs idea today, just turned it into a scramble. He's one mean cook.

A visit would be so fun.

  11. You're right - you don't have to worry about things blowing away when you cook inside - or bird poo landing on your food!

    1. Very true about the poop. Tim had that happen to him once when he was grilling a high-end steak. Yuck.

PS: Loved the signs your daughter hung. How funny is that kid? You got two good ones, that's for sure.

  12. I was looking at one of those yesterday, and thinking it's probably not a good idea to have one in bear country.
