Friday Question: Best Time

I'm stealing Tim's idea, where on Fridays he asks a question.  And my question to you Boogerbutts is this:

What's your most creative, energetic, productive, get it done, time of the day?

For me, it's mornings.  I focus better and I love the energy I get from getting something productive done first thing.

Makes the rest of my day rock.

Today, I woke ready to tackle both my morning bake, and chores.  I'll toss together bagel dough, and then get to this big honkin' pile of crap we have in our office.  Just stuff that we don't know where to put, but has been taunting me daily.

How about you? What's your most productive time?

  1. I do get a lot done before lunch. As for creative stuff though, it's usually during the week after seven. That's when I either write or play my guitar.

  3. Mornings, for sure. I get up way before the kids and hubby do. I need the quiet to get things done. :)

    1. Yep, that's me too. I like that quiet time in the early mornings.

  4. I think I get most done in the evening - the 9 to 11 slot.

    1. A little later, cool beans. Back when Tim worked nights, we would do things later as well.

  5. Hmmm, I'd have to say morning, but only after I've had a cup of coffee. And really only because Ozzie and Cliff think they are going to die if anyone but me takes them out or feeds them. If it wasn't for them, I'd sleep in. Dogs really should come equipped with a snooze button.

    1. Whew, too late for this prep cook. But I bet it's a nice quiet time for you to work.

  7. I tend to be a morning person when it comes to chores. But creative? I'm kind of all over the place. Late morning and late afternoon seem to be productive times for my writing, but if the story hits, it doesn't look at a clock.

  8. I'm not a morning person, but I've trained myself to do stuff in the morning anyway. Four cans of Pepsi Max or a pot of coffee helps. Otherwise, I prefer midnight to three a.m. Unfortunately, that doesn't work with a kid.

    1. Another that likes midnight to three. I can see how that is hard with a kid, though. Makes sense.

  11. Early evening (once I've had a whole day to wake up!) then, sometimes, right through the night if I'm on a roll (or can't sleep anyway).

    1. Night can be fun too. I use to be a night owl, back in the day. But then switched to mornings.

  12. Mid-morning is productive for me work-wise (I'm happiest if I can ease into my day slowly, even though I wake up early). Then I get a second wind usually around 3:30 or so, probably because I'm thinking "oh, crap, the day's over and look at everything I didn't get done!"

When it comes to creativity, any time of day or night! Although a healthy dose of attention deficit usually means I've got three projects going at once.

    1. I laughed at the oh crap part of your comment. And the three projects going on at once.

  13. Morning! Anytime from 5 am-9 am is when I feel the most grounded creatively.

    1. That's a good shift for me as well. I love to wake and get to my desk early like that.

  14. I am with you, if I get up and am immediately active I end up being productive and energetic all day. I get up, lazy and slow....nothing.

Today I woke up, laid in bed and read and so far...I have not done anything... :(

    1. Yep, I hear ya on the lazy part. And for some reason if I shower before bed, I have a more productive following day, then if I shower in the morning.

Just better for me to get up and get to whatever I needed to work on.

      Thanks for stopping by, Matt.
