Bake 44 & Old Job Back

Wow, I'm almost half-way through my 100 Days of Baking Challenge.  And aside from one bake, the rest I wrote myself.  At the end of this challenge I'll have a solid first draft of a baking book.

Cool beaners.

In other news, my old boss called and pending clearances from my doctor, I've got my old prep cook job back.

Old boss said it's not a problem that I can't lift heavy water jackets or unload the heavy truck stuff.   He just needs to know what I can't do, so he can schedule around my limits.

Pretty darn cool.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, and I'll see if it's safe for me to go back into prep work. I hope I can go back.

Meanwhile, I best get to bake 44.  I have just enough dark chocolate chips left to write one yummy bake.

Catch you Boogerbutts again soon.

The very last of my stockpile chocolates.

  5. ANY chocolate baking is EXCELLENT in my book! A cookbook draft is even better!

Glad to hear things are working out in your direction for the old job. But take care of that back. It's the only one you got!

  6. Suzan: The spine and neck come first now. Though I don't want to get too excited until I talk with my doctor.

    Fingers crossed.

  8. Nice shower of hearts, BTW. It would be a bad, but funny, thing to put the hearts on Tim's blog.

  9. Ken: That's the plan for Valentine's Day. Hearts on the Manor.

  10. Awesome that you can go back to work soon :) And gosh, I don't know how you've managed to stay committed to the 100 days of baking - major kudos!

  11. Azra: I made the commitment as a way of feeling better about the current job I had, and to learn more about baking.

  12. Yay for the good news (it's nice that they want you back). I hope the doctor makes the news even better!

So what yummy thing are you going to bake with that chocolate?

  13. Stacy: I think something with almond meal. A bitter bake cookie or bar, sort of thing.

    Oven preheating now.

  21. That's really great news. And your first cook book.... wouldn't that be great. I was thinking about a cook book for grumpy people. What do you think... is there a market?

  22. Very cool about getting the old job back!

Those chocolate chips look yummy. Frankly if I had those around, I'd never actually get to baking them, 'cause I'd just devour them right out of the package!

  23. Ray: I think we should celebrate by making a Lurker Flag for your minis.

    Grumpster: I don't know? Maybe? That's a little funny.

Bard: I do nibble them because they are so good. Sometimes we take a spoonful of peanut butter and eat them with that.

    So good.
