What Shall I Bake Today?

That's the question I woke asking myself this morning.

How 'bout some cheesey bread?  Maybe a nice onion roll that I can shmear cream cheese on later.  Haven't had those little chocolate cookies in awhile - those don't sound bad.

Or maybe I'll opt to make a potato, onion, corn and cheese bowl bake, with a side of brown sugar maple ham.

So many choices, and only one tiny oven.

  2. Cheese improves everything. That is the fundamental belief that brought my wife, Deb, and I together.

Deb is baking French bread. It seems very complicated or at least very drawn out. Burberry will have yummy bread tomorrow.

  3. DEZMOND: Plenty of pictures here, but no formulas right now as I've been working on my bake book.

Ken: It gets easier and won't feel as complicated once done a few times. Bread baking is the best.

    The best.

And hopefully it becomes second nature, despite the many steps sometimes required.

    Happy Baking :-)

  8. I do love baking books :) I'd write a cookbook of my own, but they require expensive professional pics :(

  9. DEZMOND: I seriously believe that you could master photography and baking. I don't know you well yet, but I think the talent is there.

  11. It's a good thing I live 1500 miles away from you. I'd be at your house all the time as a willing guinea pig! I just started a double batch of Cincinnati chili on the slow cooker. Yesterday, I picked up some dried cherries for chocolate cherry shortbread cookies. This is definitely good weather for cooking!

  13. Whisk, you do need to complete your cookbook. And you are good enough to do your own photos.

Suzan: Although, if we did live closer we could also go for walks and chat. Help burn all that good cooking off our bums.

Elsie: Lovely writing you had this morning. Nice to see your writing blog.

Alex: You are so sweet. Thank you. As for the book, I've been working my butt off on it.

  16. no, I didn't mean the photography itself, sometimes you can shoot lovely pics even with your mobile phone LOL (as you've seen in my cooking post over at Mel's), but the money you need to buy the new plates, decorations and settings for each new recipe in order to photograph them.
