I Nuked Tim's Blog Roll

I worked on Tim's blog today for I don't know how long, because he was still subscribed to dead and spam blogs.

Thankfully, I was able to unsubscribe him from all of those, through dashboard.  But in the process, I blew up his blog roll thinking I could make a new one that would work correctly.

Nope.

Good thing I'm cute, and armed with this steak.

Meanwhile, when I tried to rebuild a new blog roll, Blogger would not let me add more than 167 to his roll, before it locked and froze on saving.

No matter how many different ways I tried.

My solution was to part his blog roll into two lists, A-L and M-Z.  If anyone knows how to get past the frozen saving page, please let us know.

Thanks Bunches,

  1. Blogger is having some issues with their gadgets lately. I cannot add new blogs to my roll, and haven't been able to do so since late last year. I did post in the Google help forum, and I was asked to post the details in a thread devoted to this problem. This was a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't heard anything since.

    Good luck though.

Seriously though as you and I have discussed blogger is quite simply "Jacked Up".

  3. Harald: Since late last year? Yikes. If you hear anything back from that forum, please let me know.

Also, it's great to see you. I keep checking your picture blog from time to time. Just in case.

    Cheers and boogie boogie.

Brutorz Bill: It's for stuff just like this, that I keep steaks on hand. Never know.

Hope you've been able to get off those dead blogs. I used dashboard for Tim's. Took awhile but his blog roll is at least clean now.

  4. Oooops! Good thing you have ingredients on hand to offer as forgiveness.
Sorry I can't help with the Blogger issue. Remember, I'm the one who couldn't get a picture to show up on the page header! Ha ha ha ha ha!
    Have a good evening!

  5. Hey we had steak tonight too! Sometimes I really do get tired of blogger, but what's a girl to do? Go to wordpress?? LOL!

  6. I haven't been using it since I moved. These days I drive more than I walk, and thus I come across fewer shots. For those I do find, I mostly use FB since it lets me keep in touch with more people on the other side of the pond.

  7. There seems to be something "magical" (cursed?) about the number 167. I have the same problem with mine, and I'm thinking I may have to create two separate blog rolls as well. Not thrilled about it. >:(

  8. Yeah, 167 is the magic number. I'm going to split my roll into two as well, so I can add new blogs and clear out dead ones.

  9. As everyone has already said, 166 and no more, myself and Fran had to do the exact same thing with our blogrolls last week, its a pain in the butt, but at least it works!! I hope it was very big and juicy steak??

  12. It's funny I got to 167 and the same thing happened--and I blew up mine too. Happens to the best of us I suppose haha.

  13. My count is at 197. It could be some issue in the code that kicks in above 166 though.

  14. On something totally unrelated, I saw a pic of wonder woman socks that I thought you might want to search for.

  15. Thank God I have a small blog. I'd hate to have to mess with this. And with Google getting rid of Google friends, I think we'll all be frustrated quite soon.

  16. Hey Guys: Thanks for all the great comments, I've answered you each below. Have a groovy day and oogie boogie night.

Stacy: I have my stockpile of good ingredients, that's for sure.

Anita: Some people like Wordpress, but I'm not one of those people. Hope your steak turned out well.

Harald: That makes sense. I haven't been on Facebook or Twitter, but I hear good things about both.

Bard: How are your dead blogs? Took me a bit of time to sort and get Tim off the dead ones.

James: Hi James! Hope you're cooking lots of great foods. I remember when 300 was the limit on a blog roll. 167 feels so low.

Ray: I had read about Lurker but didn't realize you had the same problem. I've not been online as much.

Nemo: Glad you're still out there. Thanks for letting me know.

Susan: It's just okay for now but at least he can add new blogs now.

Cake: You blew up yours too. Hahaha. I guess it really does happen to the best of us. Nice to see you, as always.

Harald: Woo, 197. That's pretty darn good.

Dan: I love that. Thanks. And really, it's Wonder Woman so to me, it's never unrelated. Will Google them.

Anne: It's too bad they are removing Google Connect for non-Blogger blogs. Or, at least that's what I understood it to be. But then again, this is Blogger and these days they don't know their ass from their elbow.

  17. Steak is, of course, one of the very best solutions to an aggravated "I can't believe what you just did!"

  18. William: Nothing like keeping a few steaks in the freezer, just in case.
