I Cheated

Hello.  My name is Ivy and today I used store-bought rolls for my homemade chicken meatball Parmesan sub.

For shame.

However, I'd like to think I redeemed myself with homemade chocolate chip mini scones.

That's all from me today.  I'm working on Etsy and drinking a new coffee.  I had to switch to a new brand after Seattle's Best started to taste like burnt arse (that's for you Lurker).

Have a groovy day and remember to eat nummy things.

  2. Those pictures are NSFW--given that they make me want to leave work and get something to eat. ;)

  3. I recommend a culinary-ethical relativist approach. There's store-bought and then there's store-bought. If the rolls you bought were still well made and yummy, and if you still enjoyed that sub, then you committed no culinary sin. If, on the other hand, the sandwich was yucky because the rolls weren't very good, then some form of culinary penance is in order -- though in this latter case eating an inferior sandwich might have been penance enough ;)

  11. You take the most scrumptious photos! Ha, I had to laugh at your "cheating." I agree with JB--you must come cook for me when I'm rich and famous, yes? ;o)

PS, as far as Facebook, it's going okay considering I said I'd never join. LOL I'm just nervous about all the hacking and scams and stuff I've heard about there...

  12. Bartender: Sending you two.

J.B. and Carol: I dunno what Tim and Miss Wig would say about that. I'm thinking they'd be pretty grumpy if I stopped cooking at home.

Everyone: Thanks bunches for stopping in. Hope you're all having a groovy day.

  13. Scones and sub look amazing. Something you may want to try with the coffee, the wife and I learned about this at a Bed and Breakfast we stayed in for a wedding. A little bit of ground, or even better chunk cassia cinnamon in with the coffee grounds does wonders for the flavor even if you don't use flavored creamers or sugar in your personal cup.

  14. DocStout: I use and love organic cinnamon. I never had it in coffee, just tea. Thanks for the idea.

    Have a yummy day :-)

  15. You earnt the break. Some cherry confiture just made here and it's good. But there's a lot of cheating here too.
