Smell-a-Blog

I wish I had smell-a-blog. If I did then you could smell this chicken breast seasoned with Frontier's Organic Italian Seasoning. You'd also smell the organic tomato sauce I simmered all morning. And Miss Ethel has mozzarella and seasoned ricotta waiting for me. I'll layer these goodies in a big dish and we'll have it tomorrow night.

The plan is to spend all day tomorrow cleaning the sewing room and not have to stop to cook. We used to do craft shows every weekend but now, the room has become storage. But with Poopyhead selling his adventures, it's inspired me to get my Etsy site going for the blankets we have left.

Meanwhile tonight, we're headed to take a look at a graphics tablet and try a new place to eat. It's another steakhouse, supposed to have good prices and good food.

  1. That photograph could be in a food magazine! Chicken breast is tricky to cook well. That photo and your description sounds like you did it justice! :)

  2. Thanks, Bartender. So far chicken is the meat I cook the best. I'm still learning steaks, chops and tenderloins. Been a veghead most my life and now there's all these wonderful new things to learn. Thanks for the drop-in. A big hello to Claudia for me.

  4. Hey Lurker, you were a chef? How cool is that. Thanks for the nice words. I've much to learn in the way of meats but I tell ya, it's a whole new line of food to play with. I wanted to take culinary classes, that's why I started eating meats.

  6. oh, what a tease and me still here at work, stahving...not that I could cook anything that looked so good anyway but...say, how come you don't have your own restaurant? We have some lovely properties available in my town :)

  7. Thanks mshatch. I'd love to have my own shoppe and bake and cook yummy things. A little writer's cafe and when the bagels are done for the day, that's it until the next day. Kind of a get it while it's fresh thing.

    As for cooking, I betcha can. It's fun and even the mistakes are good to eat. When I was writing my pizzelle formula I can't even tell you how many batches we ate over the course of the experiment, until I hit the right one.

    But that's the fun of it. Getting in there and playing about until it works. Hope you give something fun a try soon.

  11. I love chicken and pork. Pork is so easy to do well, a little soy sauce and some garlic salt and pepper on a grill and it's magic! My Mom used to make pork chops that had the flavor of shoe leather. I stumbled on the recipe I use from a baked chicken recipe that my step-mother uses. She is a fantastic cook.

  14. I miss good cooking! I just spent three days in an area of the state that doesn't really care too much about food, as long as it's edible. No wonder Kurt Cobain moved away from there!

  22. That chicken looks so excellent. I love roasted chicken. So simple, succulent. Makes the house smell wonderful. Have you ever tried making your own ricotta? It's pretty easy.

    But that caramel corn picture, so yum! Makes my mouth water!!
